In dynamical systems, physical measures, meaning “physically observable invariant measures”, are used to characterize the asymptotic behavior of almost all orbits. For hyperbolic systems, basins of physical measures are essentially open. However, I. Kan constructed examples on annulus and thickened torus which exhibit two physical measures. The basins of these two physical measures display quite sophisticated properties in measure-theoretical sense, which are now called “intermingled”. We add a blender-horseshoe structure to Kan’s examples to make it to be robustly transitive.
